It's true. One-time snow-white fluffball Knut (pronounced Knooooot by the Germans) is going the way of all babies and growing up.
You may recall Knut was born in Berlin Zoo but abandoned by its mother and is being brought up by the zoo-keepers. He's been drawing massive crowds every day at the zoo and an animal rights campaigner caused a storm by appearing to suggest that Knut should be put down rather than be brought up in an unnatural way.
I was in Berlin with my son over the weekend and took the opportunity to go see Knut on Sunday morning. Maybe the last chance before he gets too big and is just another hulking polar bear.
I had been tempted to get a "Shoooot Knooot" T-shirt made but thought better of it.
The crowds are still amazing. Everyone going knuts. We had to queue behind a barrier for our 10 minute chance to see the baby polar bear up close. I agree with the seeded article. The cute baby is growing up and the Knut and keeper cuddle show must come to an end soon or the keeper will. At that point the Knut hysteria may start to die away which will be bad news for the zoo.
